Welcome!

Hello and Welcome to The Golden Moth Illumination Deck blog!

The character of this brand-new blog will be shaped by those who read and use it. My intention is to allow this blog to be a place for people to learn and share ideas about using the Golden Moth deck, to ask questions and spark inspiration. So if you have any ideas, please share them in the comments section!

For those of you who don't know what the deck is, please visit my Kickstarter page to see the original campaign launch to raise money to have the deck of cards printed, and I promise I will post more info soon.

For now, take care!

  1. I got my deck in the mail today. A beautiful treat from the mystery of vaguely wondering who it was from to the lovely contents. I just had a chance to sit down and give myself a "reading." It was very though-provoking, affirming and sweet. One thing I'm curious about: what do you see when you see the couple marching past one another with the swords? Based on the context of my question, I read it as being fierce, brave and outrageous. I know there's no wrong answer. But I'm curious...

  2. Hi Robin!

i just found your comment today - i'll have to make sure i get e-mail notifications about blog comments. thank you so much for the compliments.

as for the card, like you said there is no wrong answer, and it is surprising and delightful how people interpret the cards - everyone sees something so different! when i drew the card, i thought of it as one of conflict, almost stalemate since both partners have swords drawn in the same position. this card was reminiscent to me of the "Two of Swords" card in the Rider-Waite tarot deck. most of my images are not necessarily based or influenced by tarot imagery, but this one was. however, i like your interpretation of it being about fierceness or bravery. it is different from the tarot card i mentioned because both people have their eyes open and are facing each other. it was a new image i created for the Golden Moth deck as i hadn't had one similar to it in my original prototype deck. but i had it in mind as a card of conflict and/or confrontation.

has your interpretation of that card changed after seeing it in a spread?
